How to Relax Hair

For long lasting and dramatic effects, Sodium Hydroxide is used in most chemical relaxers, with varying strengths of pH factor of 10 to 14. Higher pH indicates faster straightening and consequently, greater damage to the hair. In "no lye" relaxers, the chemical Guanidine Hydroxide is used. Although it is less damaging when compared to lye relaxers, it requires special care during and after application and could lead to thinning, lack of growth, scalp irritation and damage, even hair loss.

If you want a cheaper and an alternative as well as a non-surgical way to treat hair loss, you will want to go for the alternative treatments that are the natural way to stop hair loss and grow hair back without the use of chemicals.

Losing hair may be a sign of iron deficiency. You should eat plenty of iron rich foods. The best sources of iron are going to be from wholegrain cereals, dried fruits, green leafy vegetables, eggs, and red meat. As you already know, hair is composed mostly of protein. Therefore your hair will most likely respond well to protein-rich foods. The best sources of protein are going to be from cheese, meats, eggs, nuts and seeds.

If you want to stop hair pulling forever, then start practicing meditation. This is a great way to relax your body and focus on your breathing. You will instantly feel relieved of stressed and notice that you don't feel the nervous sensation of wanting to pull your hair. Also, taking a class such as yoga will allow you to regain control over your body as well and calm the desire to pull your hair out compulsively.

Stress distresses the body in many ways, leading to more wrinkles, weight loss or weight gain, and hair loss. This does not only include stress from a tough job, but also physical stress upon your body such as having surgery, a tough illness, or a high fever. Stress can affect your physical condition and this will be reflected in your hair; experiencing happy and relaxed times will show as healthy, shiny hair.

Breathing techniques for health and relaxation have been taught for thousands of years in eastern exercise regimes such as yoga and taoism. It is probably one of the easiest ways to relax yourself while also improving your health at the same time. All you want to do is breath through your stomach, meaning that if you put your hand on your stomach while you breath you should be able to feel your stomach getting bigger and smaller. If you have difficulties doing this the first time, you can try lying on your back.
